2002 Bull Mountain 1

Every spring, the sculpture, "Bull Mountain," in Kansas City's West Bottoms has its grasses burned. The grasses (Big Bluestem, Little Bluestem, Indian and Switch) are native to the area. They were burned by Native Americans before the arrival of Columbus, to promote growth in the grasses to improve gain by the grazing bison. Note the face in the smoke. The metal sculptures are by some Robert Morris.
